Body proportions do not scale linearly with size. The 3 m duck must read as the same duck as the 4 cm one — not like a slightly larger one.
Injection moulding — steel mould, 8 cavities, ~45 s per cycle.
Compression moulding — aluminium mould, 1–2 cavities, ~3 min per cycle.
Hand-casting in silicone rubber mould for limited runs (≤300 units), or compression for larger runs. One cycle per day per mould.
Rotational moulding — steel split mould, internal fibreglass reinforcing frame. ~2 h per cycle, 8 h cooling.
Sculptural casting against a CNC-milled polystyrene master, fibreglass mould, internal steel frame with stiffening ribs. 2–4 weeks per duck.
Twelve branded Pantone-equivalents — the Quacktory Pigment Menu — are tinted into the mass before moulding. Body-through pigment, not paint on top. Predictable lead time. Predictable price.
A fully arbitrary Pantone from outside the menu is a separate conversation — a new formula development with its own line on the quote: +2 weeks to the lead time, +15% to the price. A new geometry is a separate project, with its own master model, discussed individually.
