Quacktory
A Quacktory duck staged on a pale architectural surface, side-lit from the morning window.
Est. MMXXII · Object 001 / 005 Catalogue MMXXV — Vol. 02

№ 01 — A rubber-duck bureau

We make ducks you don't
want to drop in the water.

From a thumb-sized 4 cm keychain to a 3 m architectural installation — the same silhouette, scaled by hand across five lines.

№ 02

Serious ducks
for un-serious people.

The small ones go in a pocket.
The large ones go in a lobby.
All of them go on camera.

— House motto, since the first mould

№ 03 — The collection

Five lines.
One silhouette.

A single rubber mould, scaled by hand across five sizes. The body reads the same at 4 cm and at 3 m — proportions are corrected per size, not linearly enlarged.

№ 04 — Scale ladder

From a thumb
to a bear.

The same duck, five times over. Proportions are corrected per size so the silhouette reads identically at 4 cm and at 3 m — not a linearly-enlarged copy. This is the architectural move.

  1. 4cm Micro thumb-sized
  2. 22cm Classic rabbit-sized
  3. 28cm Designer cat-sized
  4. 90cm Mega child-sized
  5. 3m Architect bear-sized

One vector silhouette. Body proportions do not scale linearly with size — the duck at 3 m reads as the same duck as the one at 4 cm.

№ 05 — How we make it

A single piece of rubber.
Five moulding methods.

Material

Single-piece moulding of vulcanised rubber. Food-grade silicone compound for Micro and Classic; natural rubber with EPDM additives for Designer, Mega, and Architect. No plastic inserts, no metal inside, no glued seams.

Eyes

Painted, not inserted. Black pupil on white sclera, applied post-vulcanisation with food-grade silicone dye that resists UV and water. Eye shape and colour are invariant across every SKU — eye decoration is reserved for pop-register lines.

Silhouette

One vector contour. Body proportions do not scale linearly with size — the Architect duck reads as the same duck as the Micro, not as a slightly larger one. The body is corrected by hand at each scale.

Moulding

Injection for Micro (steel mould, 8 cavities, 45 s/cycle). Compression for Classic (aluminium, 3 min/cycle). Hand-casting in silicone moulds for Designer limited runs. Rotational moulding with internal fibreglass frame for Mega. Sculptural casting against a CNC-milled master for Architect.

Quality control

Five checks per duck: visual inspection, geometry ±2%, drop test from 1 m, smell test, gravimetry ±3%. The Architect line receives ultrasonic inspection of its welded frame plus an on-site assembly photo protocol.

Compliance

EN 71-3 chemical migration. REACH — no phthalates, no bisphenol A. Age marking is mandatory on packaging. Operating range −20 °C to +60 °C, indoor use only. Wash with warm water and mild soap; no abrasives, alcohol, or bleach.

Every SKU ships with a care card and a QR code pointing to the full brand DNA at quacktory.space.

№ 06 — B2B / Custom

Custom colour from a 12-tone menu.
Lead times are predictable.

Pigment is mass-tinted before moulding — not painted on top. Pick from twelve branded Pantone-equivalents and the body colour goes all the way through. A fully arbitrary third-party Pantone is a new-formula development (+2 weeks, +15%). Custom geometry is a separate project with its own master model.
